BBCS College Counseling Services caters to
Undergraduate students
Graduate students
Doctoral candidates
Candidates looking to enroll in professional and certificate programs, two year programs, or trade / technical / allied health school programs.
Our college counseling program, similar to our career counseling program, encompasses nine sessions of one on-one-counseling with a professional career counselor, and college placement specialist.
Counseling helps adult students and families with college choices.
Students and parents will become familiar with different resources involved in the college decision process.
Counseling is provided concerning application processes, various majors, the competition involved in admittance procedures, inquiries and the best time to visit and tour prospective colleges.
Perhaps you can identify with the following circumstances:
1) Are you confused
as to what colleges are best suited to your child’s interests, majors and SAT
scores?
2) Is your child eligible for an athletic,
merit or need-based scholarship?
3) Is your child interested in a pre-law or
pre-medicine academic program?
4) Does your child have special circumstances
that will affect his or her college choice such as a learning or
physical
disability, ADD or a need for special services?
If you answered “yes” to any of the above, then you will be interested in
learning about the types of sessions we conduct on a one-on-one basis:
Sessions 1, 2 and 3
College Exploration Orientation
Talking about your future, your vocational dreams, and your extra-curricular activities in college.
After the first session of getting to know you on a personal basis, you might want to take our short, pleasant inventories that will measure your interests in regards to different college majors and possible careers. These are voluntary, as some people just want to talk about their interests and abilities. After the inventories and the sessions are completed we will have a very good idea of possible majors to explore which will help immensely in choosing which schools to apply to.
Sessions, 4, 5, and 6
The Fun and Excitement of Choosing and Applying to Competitive, Highly
Competitive and Most Competitive Schools (also known as “Safe”, “Target”, and
“Reach Schools”)
After the testing, the next three sessions will help you
decide on schools to explore, visit, and apply to including criteria based
on special majors, the size of the school, location, demographics, sports
programs, extra curricular activities, the “college experience” and of
course, finances.
The fun of visiting the schools, exploring the academic
environments, and determining if you desire a city, suburban, or rural type
of college experience is very self-actualizing.
BBCS Counseling also specializes in various types of graduate school admission processes ( MBA, Law School, Medical School, MA and PhD in Counseling, Public Health, Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapy, MA and PhD in Education, Political Science, IT, Natural and Physical Sciences, etc.). Our counselors assist students who are attending PhD programs in making critical decisions about their future.
Session 7, 8, and 9
The Application Process for Schools and Universities

We receive excellent results for our clients, and pride
ourselves in developing an affordable program for our participants. We cater to
our clients’ needs and individual circumstances. Most students take all three
parts, but some candidates only need part one, part two or part three, depending
on their search. Students visit us in their junior and senior years of high
school. As we say, the “earlier the better” when we are talking about one’s
future! It takes time to research and visit different schools.
