Career Counseling Program

An intensive one-on-one counseling, problem solving, and assessment program including individual career and life planning counseling.

The career counseling program is designed for the candidate who is seeking to make a career or industry change and is experiencing indecision regarding his or her career direction.

Career dissatisfaction may cause decreased self esteem, family-related problems, and increased symptoms of depression. These issues will be addressed in collaboration with the counselor.

Clients are encouraged to develop self awareness and the ability to make new choices regarding their careers. The full program includes Individual Counseling, Career Testing, Resume Preparation, Cover Letter Preparation, Job Search Strategies targeting new career directions, and Interview Training.

Optional homework assignments are given to enforce the client's career marketing skills and job search techniques.

Career Testing

Career testing using the top assessment instruments developed by leading career psychologists are administered as an adjunct to the counseling process.

Interview Training

Interview training sessions are extremely helpful and they include comprehensive strategies and discussions of the three types of interviews that are commonly used by professionals in the field.  Our professional and executive clients go into the interview with confidence and style.  Our interview sessions include face to face mock interviewing (if the client likes) and discussions of salary negotiation techniques. The candidate receives 75 “tough” questions before the interview. The interview is conducted by a trained professional acting in the capacity of a prospective employer. The client’s answers during the interview are critiqued and reviewed.  For every position, candidates usually go on between three and six interviews before the hiring decision is made.  For this reason alone, superior interview preparation is needed.
